[li] There is no limitation on profanity. Most sites either prohibit it or ask their members to keep it at a minimum, however, I have never had an issue with someone swearing outrageously. Of course, if you verbally abuse others using threats and profanity, we will ask you to watch your mouth. If you continue harassing people, we will ban you for a week so that you have time to cool off. If you return from your week of absence and haven't learned your lesson, you will be permanently banned from the site.
[/li][li] None of that god moding crap, however, you may get by with a bit of power play. I only say this because from personal roleplay experience, it is very difficult sometimes to roleplay a character interacting with another being without power playing just a bit. By this I mean the little things such as grabbing or shoving. Things that are out of the control of the other character. Extreme power play or god moding would include severe injuries to another character, or even death. You cannot make these decisions for another person because that would spoil their roleplay fun. So if you want to kill someone, atleast gain their permission through plotting and discussion.
[/li][li] This is a mature roleplay community. If you cannot handle profanity and some sexual themes, then you should definitely not join this rpg. Swearing will most definitely occur and graphic or sexual content may occur on some threads. But please keep in mind that this is not a sex based roleplay. So do not purposefully write up multiple cyber posts unless you're looking to get banned permanently from Earindae. If you do not follow this rule, you will first recieve a warning. If you continue, you will be removed from the site and your posts will be deleted. Don't worry, we'll make up some fake excuse for the disappearance of your characters to make it interesting for others.
[/li][li] Don't flood on any of the forums or the chat box that is provided. It is a priviledge and we will remove it if you mistreat it. If you wish to advertise your rpg or other rpgs that you are apart of, please follow the form on our advertisement thread and post the information there. To become an affiliate, please follow the same rules with advertising. We would hate to see ads all over the place. If you advertise outrageously on our site, we will give you a warning and remove the ads.
[/li][li] Do not use any pictures, banners, avatars, or signatures that exceed the width of this forum. If they make the boards wider and distort them, then the image is too big and we will either ask you to remove it, or remove it ourselves. If you would like someone to resize the image, feel free to ask on general discussion, chat box, or message an administrator.
[/li][li] Avatars should be 100 x 100. Any avatars or signature banners must be related to the character on that account. We do not want a bunch of non-related images, such as anime and pokemon, posted on the in-character forums. All new members are provided with a default avatar. It should be changed within a month of activity. There are a couple of avatars available for the convenience of our members, though custom avatars are allowed.
ACCOUNTS
[/li][li] Don't register an account if you don't plan on atleast trying to be an active member. I can't stand members who join and never log in. I am guilty of doing it in the past myself, and as a culprit and an administrator, I know that it is extremely annoying for both parties. If you can't keep up with the rpg, please at least have enough sense to notify an administrator so that we may either freeze your account or remove you completely from our site. We definitely do not want to keep a ton of inactive members on our roster. We have activity checks once a month if necessary, and if you do not reply to the activity check within the first week of it being posted, you will be removed from the site.
[/li][li] Display names must be the first and last name of your character. No exceptions, though middle names are optional in the display name. Don't use a ridiculous amount of capitol letters, and numbers should definitely not be in your username. No symbols or weird characters. The first letter of the first and last name must be capitolized. Trust me, people don't really care how fancy your name looks, as long as they can read it.
[/li][li] Please refrain from personal or in-character nick names as your display name. Those can be added later on your character's biography thread. I personally enforce this rule because I have joined rpgs where member's usernames' were not related to the character they played on the site and this was often very confusing, as I was new to the community and didn't know who was who!
[/li][li] You may only have one character per account. I know that this is the most annoying rule of all, but I would like for the members and their accounts to be organized so that it will be easier to find information on characters and lessen the confusion when posting different characters on one account. (The password to the registration board is "wolves.") So please, if you want more than one character, you must have a seperate account for each.
[/li][li] Only one character may be created at a time. Once your first application is accepted, you may then create a separate account and begin working on a second application. You may have as many characters as you can handle; if you can only handle one or two characters at a time, please do not create more characters.
IN CHARACTER
[/li][li] The student handbook. Read it. Know it. The student handbook, or academy handbook, is a separate set of rules for Earindae! Unlike these general rules, the handbook is a list of in-character academy regulations. All students are required to have read and acknowledged the academy handbook within the first week of their arrival.
[/li][li] Read the facts, or you'll regret it. We have provided a Facts & FAQ thread to submit questions, answers, and in-character facts about the academy. It is very important that you read the facts before you register. If you do not read the facts, it will be horribly noticeable to all who have read this thread. You can click here to view the facts in this window right now.
[/li][li] Sex scenes are allowed, but we have some guidelines. We do not prefer lengthy, descriptive cyber posts. In fact, we would rather you skip over the actual sexing part, and roleplay the before and after; such as the cuddling, spooning, or caressing. It doesn't hurt to just "say" you did it, if it is a mutual agreement between the intimate partners, of course.
[/li][li] Rape. It happens. Or at least, it can. However, you must gain permission before taking sexual advantage of another character. Forced sexual encounters (especially unprotected ones, which would most likely be the case, because I don't think one would have time to put on a condom in the act of violating a struggling victim) may result in random, and unfortunate surprises; such as sexually transmitted diseases, unexpected pregnancies, infections, etc.
[/li][li] God forbid, we allow murders, too. On one condition! It must be consensual. You must gain permission to kill a person, and then notify me immediately when you are plotting to murder another person.
RACIAL FACTS
[/li][li] There are six unique races in existence. Take a look at this thread to read the general racial descriptions. Upon registering a character, you will be required to choose what race your character is. It would be wise to review that page before making your decision.
[/li][li] The Strigoi are the only race that cannot reproduce. They can be intimate with a partner, or multiple partners, but are unable to reproduce or bare offspring. To become a Strigoi, the human had to have died at some point (whether murdered, had a heart-attack, or underwent the ritual from another Strigoi) in order to become a Strigoi. While their minds are mostly intact (with exception of the thirst and need for blood to survive), their reproductive organs are unable to produce sperm or eggs in which are necessary to have offspring.
[/li][li]The Moroi are the only vampiric race that can reproduce. The Moroi gene is dominant when with human genes (so you have it or you don't). However, it competes with the Therian gene. If you have one Moroi and one Therian gene, the result is a human carrier of both genes. Two Moroi genes with one Therian gene results in a Moroi offspring, and one Moroi gene with two Therian genes results in a Therian offspring. Two Moroi genes with two Therian genes are extremely rare (1 in a billion) and result in a true hybrid.
[/li][li] Hybrids are the only race that cannot be made upon registering a character. Hybrids are an extremely rare race and are created when a second generation Moroi and Therian successfully bare offspring.
[/li][li] A Moroi cannot reproduce if he or she is turned into a Strigoi. To become a Strigoi, the Moroi is infected by the Strigoi gene which results in death. The transition is smoother for a Moroi than it is for a human because they already have similar characteristics aside from being dead and immortal. When the infected Moroi is brought back to life, he becomes a Strigoi and takes on all Strigoi characteristics.
[/li][li] The are two known ways to become a Strigoi. If the individual is a Moroi, he or she can drain the blood of another Moroi to become Strigoi. The Strigoi are also capable of turning a human, Moroi, or Therian into a Strigoi by feeding off of the host and then exchanging their blood. Both of these rituals result in death.
[/li][li] A Lycan can never turn or reproduce with a Strigoi or Moroi. It is said that vampires and werewolves are both cursed beings. For this, they could never turn or bare offspring with one another. If the genes of these cursed races were to ever combine, it would result in death. For this, neither of these races see the point in keeping the other around. Deadly feuds between these races have been going on for centuries.
